Old Norfolk Boy! Got to know Peter Buchanan (Senior <Scribbler>& Junior <Flasher>) in 1982 through the joy of illegal CB radio. Enjoyed Scribbler's tales of his times in the music industry. Was already a fan of Lonnie's through Sunday radio programs, so to meet somebody who knew him was a joy. Scribbler was a joy to know on his own level too. He was in at the start of 'popular' music in this country and very articulate could relate this to somebody with relish. I miss him. Unfortunately, I lost touch with him when he moved to Walsingham. My loss! |

i learned to play the 5 string banjo early sixties using lonnies records. at the time i knew very little about american old time music but found these tunes ideal sometime later i realised they were old banjo tunes popularised we owe so much to lonnie for bringing this longtime neglected music to us in the uk |
